Above are our ladies that came in 6th in division 1 of the North Staffs cross country league. From left to right they are Julie Tooth, Kate Boot, Deb Chave (her 1st time) and Yvonne Nicholls.
The men also competed in division 2 and were 12th on the day. It would be good to see more Harriers competing so come on give it a go. It was Anthony Sheerans 1st go and he ran again the following day its not as hard as people think.
The next race is on the 19th November at Stafford common see Derek for details or the following link http://www.nsccl.co.uk/

Hell Runner

As you all know I like hills, water and mud and believe me there was plenty. The race started at 1300 hours on Sunday 7 of November I had entered as an elite athlete. I tried to change this before the race but could not.

On the day it was a carnival atmosphere people dressed up as devils and other funny outfits and then the serious runners like me. The gun went first mile was up hill and killed me when I got to the top what a view thought I had reached hell. Then it was down hill for a bit got my breath back then into the woods very muddy and unsafe under foot thought Mr Powner has been here and marked the route.

Nottingham Marathon - Sept 2010

Summary - good 1st Half, nightmare last 6 miles.

Here I am 3 days after the event. Today is the 1st day that I can just about walk. Monday was difficult. Legs ached. Even used the lift at work a couple of times instead of the stairs & I only have to go up one floor.

Spent part of Saturday getting kit ready & reading through notes to ensure knew where to go. Why does the thought of doing races get us stressed?
